Description
CleanAir Europe offers for rent this gas analyzer which allows the measurement of CO in theambient air. The Thermo Scientific Model 48C uses the principle of infrared correlation. Carbon monoxide (CO) absorbs infrared radiation at a wavelength of 4.6 microns. Since infrared absorption is a non-linear measurement technique, it is necessary for the instrument electronics to transform the analyzer's base signal into a linear output. The Model 48C uses an exact calibration curve to accurately linearize the instrument output over any range up to a concentration of 10,000 ppm.
This technique uses an interferential filter in order to be free from other present gases. It is used on dry, clean gas at room temperature. It is ideal for very low concentrations.
