Description
The Testo DiSCmini measures the number and average diameter of nanoparticles based on the electrical charge of aerosols. Use the Testo DiSCmini to reliably monitor people's exposure to diesel soot, welding fumes or industrial nanoparticles. The handy Testo DiSCmini lets you take your measurements anywhere.
Health risks from nanoparticles :
Current studies describe the negative health effects of ultrafine particles using imprecise criteria. The DiSCmini measures the concentration of the number of particles and the surface area of nanoparticles present in the form of a LDSA (Lung Deposited Surface Area) value. This enables you to effectively monitor human exposure to ultrafine particles (UFP) in the workplace, or to air pollution caused by diesel soot, for example. In this way, you minimize health risks.
Key points:
- Measurement of particle number, mean particle diameter and LDSA value (time resolution: 1 sec)
- Solvent- and radioactive-source-free operation
- Insensitive to vibration, operation possible in any position
- Long battery life of up to 8 hours
Applications :
- Detecting personal exposure to particle-laden workstations (diesel soot, welding fumes, industrial nanoparticles)
- At-risk groups (such as asthmatics or COPD patients).
- Air quality monitoring
What's more, the Testo DiSCmini offers a wide range of applications in different fields of scientific research.
The small size of the Testo DiSCmini makes it particularly suitable for mobile on-site measurement tasks and for setting up networks for ambient air monitoring. Thanks to the measurement rate with a time resolution of 1 Hz for all three measurement quantities, you can also detect rapid changes in aerosol numbers.
